Key Responsibilities:
- supporting the delivery of preservation services to safeguard and maintain the State Library’s collections through the registration of outgoing and incoming exhibition loans,
- overseeing the scheduling and workflow of contractors in preparation for the transport of State Library collections and exhibition loans. This includes negotiating and coordinating travel and courier arrangements, and compliance with loan conditions, national regulations, and contractual requirements.
- assisting the Preservation team in providing advice and services in relation to registration requirements. This involves maintaining State Library policies relating to collection loans, reporting for insurance purposes and adhering to current legislation and professional best practice.
- managing the movement of State Library’s collection items identified for use in exhibitions including assisting with the install and de-install of exhibitions.
- contributing to a positive and safe work environment by ensuring conduct that is culturally capable, inclusive, respectful and ethical.
Qualifications
There are no mandatory requirements for this role relevant qualifications in museum studies, arts or library administration, or art history from a recognised institution, would be highly regarded, as would least two years of experience in a similar role in a gallery, library, archive or museum.\
