Elementary Teacher Librarian/Media Specialist – Canadian International School (CIS)

The CIS Elementary Teacher Librarian/Media Specialist teaches the elementary library in the classroom. As part of their job, librarians collaborate with parents, teachers, and students to establish a learning center within the library. The elementary school principal receives direct reports from the elementary teacher librarian, who is a member of the elementary faculty.

Establishing an environment of curiosity in literature and research is the responsibility of the CIS Elementary Teacher Librarian/Media Specialist, who also gives students, faculty, staff, and parents the challenges and encouragement they need to do so.

The CIS Elementary Librarian/Media Specialist is knowledgeable about Follett Destiny and everything it has to offer our community, and she is up to date on the newest media trends, such as e-books, libraries, and research portals.

Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred;
● Experience in international education and with international students, faculty and families;
● Certification as a librarian (certification as both a librarian and teacher preferred),
● Experience as a teacher-librarian or librarian with teaching background. Sound working knowledge of Follett Destiny software.
